Half Marathon for HLTTV in Celebration of Camille
Story
Hi everyone,
In celebration of my cousin Camille's life, strength and determination, I'm going to run a half marathon at the end of September to raise funds for the Heart & Lung Transplant Trust Victoria.
Camille received a double lung transplant back in 2013 and was very involved in supporting HLTTV both pre and post op. She was given the gift of a wonderful 6 extra years of colourful life, but unfortunately passed away this year due to cancer. However, her life was filled to the brim with generousity, colour and doing the impossible, so I want to carry that on in her honour :)
In 2014, not long after Camille's transplant, we took part in a colour run together. She walked and I ran 5kms. An extremely proud moment for both of us. I suffer from CFS and after being told by doctors that I would never be able to work, study or exercise again - reaching this goal was completely unfathomable at the time. So this run is going to be a real challenge, but if Camille can achieve all the amazing things she did in her lifetime, then I can do this too.

The Heart and Lung Transplant Trust (Victoria) Inc. is a not-for-profit association whose membership consists of heart and lung transplant patients, recipients, their carers and families.
Our vision is for a bright and active future for all those involved with or in need of a heart or lung transplant. We actively encourage organ donation and support The Alfred Hospital Melbourne, the transplant team, patients, recipients, their families and carers throughout the journey.
Formed in 1994, five years after The Alfred Hospital performed its first pioneering heart transplant, HLTTV is managed by a committee of dedicated volunteers who have each experienced the heart or lung transplant journey. We are a partner of DonateLife and are a Deductible Gift Recipient, so donations of $2 and over are tax-deductible.
